[Fredslist] Need German inheritance tax advice

Dear All,

I just learned that my German client passed away yesterday, leaving behind a sizeable estate.  My client was a dual US/German citizen.  The bulk of her estate is here in New York.  Her mother is a German citizen only.  I want to understand fully the inheritance tax consequences of certain transfers to her mother.
