Gotham City Networking Group Inc Golf

Information Sheet

The golf committee thought that we should prepare everyone for the
forthcoming event. We know that for most of you, the following is old hat.
However, in order to ensure that everyone has a great time and does lots of
networking, we have listed some very important information.

EQUIPMENT

Everyone who plays must have their own set of clubs, balls, tees and soft
spiked golf shoes. Engineers is a private club, as opposed to a
public/resort type club and does not have a large amount of rental clubs
available. However, there will be some available, and they can be rented for
a fee. Credit cards are accepted You can call the pro shop at the number
listed at the end of this document.

If you don't have soft spikes, the locker attendant will be able to change
your spikes. There might be a small charge for the service. If you don't
have shoes you could use flat soled sneakers.

DRESS CODE

Dress for the day is casual. Collared shirts are required both during the
day and evening. Shorts are permitted. Denim Jeans are not allowed. Shower
facilities will be available for changing. Due to Covid 19 there will be no
lockers available. An area will be set aside in the locker room with
clothing racks.

This event is scheduled to be held outdoors so you might want to bring a
sweater for evening cocktails and dinner.

CADDIES

In addition to golf carts, each foursome will have a caddie to help them
through the game. It is customary to tip them at the end of the round. The
minimum tip is $25 per player or $100. per foursome cash only. However, most
people usually give a little more at their discretion.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

There will be 2 scoring formats. Each foursome has already chosen which one
they will use.

Best ball

Each player will play his own ball and keep his own score. The best score
for each hole will be counted for the team. e.g. On any one hole 3 players
shoot 5 and one shoots 4, the 4 is counted.

THIS FORMAT IS RECOMMENDED FOR EXPERIENCED GOLFERS ONLY AND SHOULD BE USED
ONLY IF EVERY GOLFER IN THE FOURSOME IS EXPRERIENCED.

Scramble

Each player hits a ball off the tee. The group then decides which is the
best shot. The other three balls are then picked up and dropped within one
club length of the best shot. Everyone then hits a ball from that spot. This
continues until the ball is holed out. The score is then counted for the
team.

THIS FORMAT WILL BE USED BY BEGINNING AND HIGH HANDICAP GOLFERS. IT ALSO IS
THE BEST WAY TO NETWORK AND MOVE THE GAME ALONG

WHEN ANY TEAM AND/OR INDIVIDUAL PLAYER REACHES DOUBLE PAR (INCUDING WHIFFS)
THAT TEAM OR PLAYER MUST PICK UP THEIR BALL AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT HOLE
THIS RULE APPLIES TO BOTH FORMATS
