Help Feed Families in Need
Good Deed Doing in San Francisco…. By Son-Of-A-Gothamite Bryan Tublin (see
Mitch Tublin for details)
Kitava is a wonderful place, with really beautiful food and a great
conceptnIn a hardscrabble location – particularly now since they are across
the street from a major BART commuter station (Bay Area Rapid Transit) when
fewer people are commuting andBART keeps getting hit with computer system
problems.
Check out Kitava https://www.kitava.com/pages/about
and, even if you can’t be in San Francisco, you can drool over the menu
here: https://www.kitava.com/#menu
What goes around comes around, my friends.

*Introducing: HelpKitchen*
Kitava has served thousands of meals to food insecure individuals since the
COVID crisis began. We've done this in partnership with HelpKitchen.org
<https://kitava.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=348ef87fa1a210e74dbb2e2e7&id=e306b43be4&e=2ece6522db>,
a nonprofit that connects individuals in need of a meal with local
restaurants to serve them. HelpKitchen's efforts help feed the hungry,
support local businesses, and keep restaurant workers employed through much
needed donor-funded revenue.
Here's how it works:
*For those who need a meal*, they simply send a text to HelpKitchen telling
them what neighborhood they’re in and how many meals they need. They are
then matched with a partner restaurant who prepares their meals for pickup.
*For restaurants (like Kitava)*, they get to feed those in need in their
community while also generating revenue to keep them in business (the meals
are 100% donor-funded).
*For donors*, they donate to feed the hungry in their community while also
keeping restaurants in business, and restaurant employees still working.
(You can donate to HelpKitchen here

)
Since launching in late April, HelpKitchen has served 175,000+ meals,
contributed $1.5 million to the San Francisco and Detroit restaurant
economies, and helped dozens of restaurants stay afloat during this crisis.
Not bad for an all-volunteer team with no budget. 💪🏼
While these initial efforts were funded by generous one-time donations,
that seed capital won't last forever. HelpKitchen needs the help of local
communities in cities across the country to keep their mission alive.
If you're interested in supporting HelpKitchen's efforts in San Francisco,
you can donate through their website
