[Fredslist] Mental Health Professional CE invite

Hello fellow Gotham members,

 

On Friday, June 17th, our firm will be conducting our annual legal workshop
for mental health professionals.  Our firm, Wisselman, Harounian &
Association, P.C. SW CPE, is recognized by the NY State Education
Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of
continuing education for licensed social workers #0352.   This continuing
education workshop offers 3.0 CE credits.   

 

The topic presented will be "Divorce Through the Eyes of a Child: Working
with Families to Resolve Divorce and Move Forward".  Lisa Askinazi, Ph.D.,
an alternative dispute resolution practitioner, will discuss the benefits
and pitfalls of joint custody relevant to shared physical custody and shared
decision making.   Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, Executive Director of the Hofstra
Law School Center for Children, Families and the Law, will speak about the
mission of the Center's Mediation Project - a key initiative that will
provide mediation and steer clients to appropriate services to ease the
tension and stress of divorce, including psychological counseling for the
children and financial counseling for the family.  In addition, our
attorneys will review issues of domestic violence, and compare appropriate
uses of mediation, negotiation and litigation in family law.
