Several ADR colleagues and I will be presenting a program on Arbitration and Mediation at the Nassau County Bar Association on Thursday, May 29.  We’d love to see you there. 

 

You can sign up for the morning session (Arbitration; 3 CLE credits) and/or the afternoon session (Mediation; 3.5 CLE credits).  If you register for both (6.5 CLE credits), lunch is included.  As reflected on the attached flyer/order form, I will be presenting in both segments of the morning session. 

 

The morning session is entitled: “What Transactional Attorneys and Litigators Need to Know About Arbitration Clauses.”

 

In the first segment of the morning, my colleague Gene Ginsberg and I will present a program entitled: “Drafting Arbitration Clauses: Getting the Arbitration Process Parties Want and Need.”  This program has been created by the College of Commercial Arbitrators, of which Gene and I both are Fellows (members), and is being presented at large law firms and in-house legal departments all over the country; this is an opportunity for smaller firm practitioners to gain the benefit of this program.  

 

The morning session will conclude with our panel discussion about: 

 

 When arbitration is the appropriate dispute resolution (ADR) approach 

 How to choose an arbitrator 

 Ethical considerations for lawyer-advocates in the arbitration process 

 

The afternoon session focuses on Mediation, and should be both entertaining and informative.
