My son, Max, is a stand up comic, writer, producer and a founder of sketch comedy team, Dinner For One Productions. The group recently shot a television pilot that was a finalist in the Comedy Central TV pilot competition. It was also an official selection of the NY Independent TV and Film Festival Pilot Contest, and was screened at that Festival last year. This summer they’re shooting an entire season of their series, “Life Sucks”, in Brooklyn. The show is about the trials and tribulations of Middle School life.
Dinner For One Productions will be hosting a month long camp program that will coincide with their television series’ production. It's going to be a creative explosion of awesome!!! And the camp- along with “traditional” donations to the production- will fund the series.
Anyone interested in participating, can enroll a young family member in the camp- or simply make a contribution via mobcaster.com (see below!)
To have your kids apply to the camp just go to the website here. You can also donate to the production: http://mobcaster.com/fundraise/lifesucks/season-1
Click “Fund This Show” and then click "Theatre Workshop/Featured Extra" under the “Choose Your Reward” and when we reach our goal we will send you the sign up form. (*parents must sign their kids up, we can't accept donations from minors).
The camp program will be lead by Proximity Theatre Company's Kyra Lehman and Ken Urbina, professional theatre directors with over 10 years of experience producing plays and teaching workshops to young actors. Kids will get to create the characters that they will play in “Life Sucks” and they will be introduced to acting techniques such as character development, improvisation, voice and movement exercises and create "spin-off" webisodes based on each actor's character.
The workshop will take place at our middle school location in Brooklyn (Boerum Hill) from July 22nd-August 22nd, 6 days a week (Mon-Sat) 8am-6pm.
SHADOW PROGRAM
We are also offering the opportunity for 8 teens to shadow the director, an actor, actress or producer for 2 full weeks on the set of Life Sucks. For aspiring actors or filmmakers, we will teach you everything we know, and give you one-on-one acting training, let you direct a scene in Life Sucks, or other cool opportunities based on your interests and aspirations (a particularly great resume booster for college applications). To sign up, just click the "Shadow Program" reward.
For any questions about the program, please e-mail us or cfox at stealthpictures.com. Thanks!
