Last night at our cocktails at KZR, Gotham member and immigration attorney
Steve Maggi told the attendees about his volunteer project in Africa. He
was instantly surrounded by members making donations to the cause and moved
me to submit this email.

In case you haven't seen his submissions to Fred's List or met him,  Steve
is going back to a small rural town in Ghana in two weeks. He began a
volunteer program there almost three years ago which has helped to spread
the word about an incredible project whose aim is to construct a campus for
over 400 orphans and needy children, and which is halfway to being
completed, but has been paused until more funding is received. (See the

Steve has been asked to take pens, pencils and pencil sharpeners with him,
but money is even more helpful because it can be used to restart the
construction project.
