.  Client contact by phone (incoming and outgoing calls)

.  Telephone calls to clients in response to voicemail messages left for
attorneys

.  In-person client contact to relay information, status, or take payments
at the request of attorneys and paralegals

.  Extensive client contact by phone requesting payment for services
rendered/to be rendered at the request of attorneys

.  Taking credit card payments by phone, issuing receipt and sending credit
card authorization form with receipt by mail/email

.  Sending out correspondence by regular mail, certified mail, Fedex &
Express Mail

.  Checking and responding to emails received

.  Processing of incoming mail (logging it into LawLogix, requesting files
and taking further action per CEP or other atty recommendation)

.  Scheduling of clients for CEP's and other atty's calendars

.  Scheduling of clients for paralegals and associate attorneys at their
request

.  Contact with clients overseas using Skype

.  Contact with CIS regarding clients' case status

.  Contact with US consulates regarding scheduling of appointments for
clients

.  Interpretation for clients

.  Translation of documents from Spanish to English

.  Making copies of clients' files and arranging delivery for clients and
other attorneys (pick up or mail)

.  Verifying CIS addresses for application filings

.  Reviewing applications briefly to ensure signatures and checks are
attached to filings

.  Taking care of CEP's personal appointments or other matters as he
requires

.  Occasionally assisting reception on incoming calls if understaffed

I need a Spanish-speaking, bilingual secretary/legal-personal assistant who
has excellent communication and computer skills. I'm not expecting any
immigration experience though that would be a major plus. She deals with all
my mail, my calls to or from employers and aliens of all levels (from
engineers to landscapers in Mexico). She has her hand in pretty much
everything that goes on in my immigration dept.  A degree is not essential,
though certainly helpful

I've been paying $42K/yr but would go higher if ned, though not too high of
course

 

Where do you suggest looking?

No reply from legalnet yet. Someone from the post emailed me but no help
yet. I emailed the guy you forwarded to me in CA as maybe he and I can work
on this jointly

 

My personal secty of 10 yrs gave me notice last nite so 1 more thing I now
have on my plate. Just got off phone with a personnel agent who placed my
office manager

I have a Georgian client who presented what I consider to be an
exceptionally strong E-2 application to the Consulate in Tbilisi.  Client
reports that interview lasted all of 5 minutes, w/o officer even opening
binder we had submitted, ending in a denial based on INA 214(b).  8 CFR and
FAM say officer didn't know what she was doing.  For all I know, this was
her first-ever E.  Before anything else, I'd like to try contacting
Consulate directly to see if we can resolve this, but can't find any
relevant E-mail addresses, phone or Fax numbers.  Has anyone on the listserv
had experience w/ Tbilisi, and/or have any contact information to share?
