Holocaust and Genocide
in a 7 week program*

* What year was the Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaimed?*



*Youth of all ages, edu**cators and parents are working with the
FloridaHolocaust Museum "Teaching Tru
**nks". The trunks are filled **with instruction  all materials and teaching
curriculums, are on loan to us from the Florida Holocaust Museum in St.
Petersburg Florida. They are discovering opportunities to integrate powerful
messages by images, music and performances. The students are exploring what
is genocide, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the connection
between historical bystander behavior, modern challenges with school
bullying, gun violence, and the code of no snitching. Other key components
of the program include television broadcasting, newspaper writing, conflict
resolution, mentoring, sports, learning interviewing/ communication, and
critical reading.*



*The primary focus ****of our learning experiences is tolerance,
spear-headed by the painful recounting of Holocaust Survivors. These
survivors visit our schools to share their experiences and their wisdom. As
our children explore, write and learn to appreciate this remarkable
historical human endeavor, they understand the importance of community,
respect, and the importance of others as well.*

 *[image: teaching trunks]The trunks are available for a loan period of one
month to public, private and parochial schools throughout the continental
United States. In order to best accommodate your class, we fe**a**ture a
variety of grade-specific trunks (1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, and 5th grades),
multi-grade trunks (3rd-5th and 6th-12th grade), and general middle school
and high school trunks. Also available for loan are an elementary-level Arts
trunk and a secondary-level Human Rights and Genocide trunk. All trunks
contain literature, videos, CD-ROMs, a curriculum guide, and other materials
selected specifically for each grade level.*

program, by sending in a tax-deduc**tible contribution of $700.00 or more to
