We have many impressive Gotham groups, but Gotham Towers takes the cake for it's unique and fresh approach. Members and guests had to earn their breakfast, by drilling down to the "why". Why should our prospects use our products or services? Steve Lichtenstein really engaged us and made us think. I learned a new approach to my elevator speech. Explaining to prospects "why" they should use my services is a lot more important then the "how" and "what" in presenting what I do. I also met some wonderful people.
I plan to return and I would urge every Gothamite to visit Gotham Towers. Please check with Steven before you go. Gotham is like the lottery, you have to be in it to win. The more relationships you build, the more you will win. Those Gothamites who believe that Gotham is about eight lunches a year are sadly mistaken. It's all about relationships, lifetime relationships. Enjoy.
Warm wishes,
Jack

> We also welcomed circuit rider Jack Halpern of My Elder Advocate to our group for his first "drive by". Jack is in the Gotham Hall of Fame and is a former winner of networker of the year. We also got to hear from member Eric Martinez, CPA of Grassi & Co. His "seven minutes in heaven" featured a summary of his recent article dealing with asset purchase agreements and inventory considerations. Eric shared with us how he recently saved a client over $ 700,000 by avoiding overpaying for a business based on inflated inventory.
> Lastly, yours truly, made a presentation to the group regarding Simon Sinek's book, "Start With Why". We drilled down and learned how to hone our presentations to focus on starting with Why (instead of 'How' and 'What' we do). We discussed how although one's brain's neocortex controls language and helps us to understand how and what, the more powerful driver of behavior is controlled by our 'Limbic" brains. This is where 'Why' and our value proposition lie. This is the place where our gut instincts are formed and this is the area we need to penetrate in our sales presentations and introductions in order to garner more clients and effect more lives.
