non-profit
Fellow Gothamites,
I am looking for advice about possibly starting a non-profit. My company
is currently an LLC but I am finding that a portion of my business is more
mission driven than profit driven, and I am wondering if it makes sense to
spin off part of the company into a not for profit foundation. Does anyone
have experience with this? I am most interested in hearing from folks who
have started their own non-profits and/or are currently running their own
non-profits. I am not ready to talk to lawyers yet about filing papers. I
really want to explore what it means to head a non profit foundation.
