Good afternoon, friends!!

 

As many of you know, I lost my 24-year old brother Welles on September
11, 2001.  He was an equities trader in Tower 2, but a trained volunteer
firefighter in my home town of Upper Nyack, NY.  Having saved an
estimated 18 people, he became known as the Man in the Red Bandanna and
his story continues to spread!  In 2006, he became the FIRST citizen to
be posthumously made an honorary member of the FDNY.  It was certainly a
tragedy and the worst thing that could happen to a family, but we are
trying to turn the circumstances around and do something outstanding to
honor him.

 

A few years back, we established the Welles Remy Crowther Charitable
Trust to raise money for youth organizations across the country, and now
around the world.  Four years ago, we held our first Red Bandanna 5k
Run/Walk which has turned out to be our largest annual fundraiser, by
far.  It is a little over 3 mile walk/run at the Campus Loop around
Boston College - where my late brother, Welles (Class of '99), my
sister, Honor (Class of '01), and I (Class of '06) all completed our
undergrad. Go Eagles! 

 

This year the race is taking place at 9a.m. on Saturday, September 19th,
2009 with registration starting at 8a.m. at Gasson Hall, Boston College.


 

Last year (despite the less than favorable economic conditions) we
raised nearly $20,000 with this event!!  This year we have our hearts
set on $25,000... Please help us reach our goal!!!
