[Fredslist] Tocqueville Restaurant near Union Square - lovely room, nice proprietor

A friend introduced me to the farmer's market lunch at Tocqueville at One
East 15th Street this year.  This place has a sophisticated, quiet ambiance,
premiere service and beautifully presented, reasonably priced delicious
food.  Try their cheddar studded rolls and have dessert, even if you don't
have room!  I also recommend their signature scallop dish.   Marco, the
owner, and his wife generally are on premises and happily greet customers.
 The economy is definitely affecting this young couple's enterprise, and I
wanted to do that Gotham thing - spread the word.  So, if you are need of a
lovely place for lunch or dinner in the Union Square area, Tocqueville is
worth the trip.
