Managing Editor of Growing Network of Publications

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

Experience: We would prefer that you have several years of experience as an editor performing the functions outlined above for an established commercial publication. The more experience, the better.

Editing/Writing Skills: Only an excellent writer can edit the work of others. You should know how to write concisely using active voice. We cannot stress enough the importance of this skill as you will spend most of your time editing.

Legal Technology: Because TechnoLawyer is our flagship publication, you must feel comfortable with its content. If you can edit an article about eDiscovery software, you can edit a restaurant review for JetBlue. Thus, a legal or legal media background is a plus.

People Skills: You'll need to prove that you can manage a team, and also report to our clients.

Technology Skills: You should feel comfortable using a Mac, and know how to use advanced features in Microsoft Word and Excel such as Styles.

Research Skills: You must have a knack for finding the proverbial needle in the haystack, which typically involves more than just searching Google.

College Degree: Please list your cumulative GPA, especially if you have less than five years of experience.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Compensation: We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with other companies and your prior experience.

Benefits: We provide health insurance (currently Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield).

Vacation: You'll receive 3 weeks of vacation per year plus personal days plus federal holidays.

Location: We would prefer hiring someone in the New York metropolitan area, but will consider people elsewhere who have the exact qualifications we seek.
