Well known jazz composer  & pianist Peggy Stern will be opening her studio on 
the upper west side of  NYC for lessons, beginning this summer. Classically 
trained, educated at Eastman  and NEC, Peggy converted to improvised music and 
is established in the world of  jazz, Latin, Brazilian and original music.  As 
a teacher she specializes in  bridging the divide between written and 
improvised music.  Peggy has a  clear, cogent and unthreatening approach to 
improvisation, and welcomes students  who already have some piano/instrumental
