[Fredslist] Question for a bankruptcy or collection attorney

I am president of the men's club at my temple. I  just received a call from the Treasurer. He went to the bank this morning and found out our accounts are frozen.
 
Apparently for some reason of which I do not know, the bank accounts were opened using the social security number of the past president.  I was unaware of this. This person is now having financial problems. Apparently a judgement against him has caused our accounts to be frozen.
 
I will be getting the name of the law firm this evening that had the accounts frozen.
 
The question is do we have any recourse here or are we in a no win situation since his social security number is the registered number for the account?
