I worked as a counselor at this camp - it serves families who have been
affected by AIDS - children, parents, caregivers - the entire family
goes to camp for one week, counselors stay with the children (just like
at camp!) and the parents have their own space - everyone gets a week of
relaxation, counseling, dancing, etc. If anyone cares to attend the
benefit, that would be great - if anyone wants to contribute, even
better - and if anyone wants to volunteer, I'm sure they'd be thrilled
to have you. (contact Sandee Moore, sandee at campheartland.org, as below)

Subject: And now some news

You can't imagine how excited I am to announce to you on a Monday that
is warm and sunny and makes you think summer in, in fact, coming soon
that Birch Family Camp 2007 will be taking place on August 14-20 AND
August 21-27. Thanks right ladies and gentlemen....the Heartland Board
has voted and are very, very pleased to be offering a full camp program
in this first transition year!! Let the wild rumpus begin!!

In the midst of celebrating however, let's not forget that we still have
$65,000 to raise between now and camp! The message the Board has sent
to us is that we've done an amazing job in a very short time, and they
have confidence that we can raise the rest. But, I have to add that if
we come up short, it will impact whether we do one or two sessions in
2008!

But for now...celebrate! You deserve it!

For those of you in New York, or who know people in New York, here is a
great way to celebrate and to laugh (and who doesn't need that on a
Tuesday night?)....

Tuesday, March 13. Yes, conveniently tomorrow night!!!

7pm

Stand Up New York, 236 W 78th St @ Broadway

A Benefit for the Birch Family Camp, arranged by our dear friend Rey
Rosa

$15 cover, 1 drink minimum

if we have less than 100 people, 80% of the door comes to us

if we have more than 100 people, 100% of the door comes to us

Oh, how I'd love to see you, and your friends so we can laugh and
celebrate together!!

Pass the word - we love to see new folks too!!

Endless thanks. I couldn't be happier today!
