Hello Gotham
A family member received a ticket for going through a red light in Queens.
(The light was yellow). The fine is not the issue as much as the points
associated with a moving violation. I am not familiar with NYC traffic
court and would like to know if anyone has had success in defending a
ticket for a moving violation when it is just the officer's word versus the
driver. I have been advised that in NYC the officer's word is final.
Any attorneys who handle this type of matter please feel free to e-mail me
with your thoughts and fees to appear in traffic court.
The ticket also states that the fines on the ticket are the fines you pay
if you plead guilty by mail, but that the fines may be higher if you plead
not guilty and are later found guilty. Is that true?
Thanks.
Marty
