The Gotham Foundation exists to raise and disburse charitable contributions
from Gotham members.  To date, the Westchester group has raised $1,575.00.
The Westchester group has asked that these funds be donated to the Maria
Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.

As a consequence of the initiative of the Westchester group, the Foundation
suggests that each of Gotham’s individual groups consider engaging in the
same kind of  group oriented fund-raising efforts through the Foundation.
Any recipient must be a 501(c)(3) organization.  The Foundation’s board
asks the interested groups to submit the name of the recipient for approval
before funds are raised.  While groups can designate any charity they wish,
the Foundation hopes that the recipients will be linked to Gotham’s purpose
and geography.  To avoid members feeling any pressure, but to be fair to
not-for-profit Gotham members, if the recipient itself is a member of
Gotham, it can be the recipient only once.
