[Fredslist] Not-for-profit Theater Company In Trouble for Summer Season

The Port Washington (L.I.) Summer Show, a community theater production
for middle and high school students in Port Washington, is in serious
financial trouble due to the failure of the 2005-2006 Port Washington
School District budget to pass.  For the past 25 years the show has been
held in the community without fail, but the space usually used by the
theater company to rehearse and perform in, the local high school, now
must be paid for, and if the company is to have its show in its usual
community location it must now raise an additional $20,000 during the
month of July (this effectively has doubled the company's summer
operating expenses).  Any businesses or individuals with an interest in
community development on Long Island are strongly encouraged to help our
cause via a tax-deductible donation of between $2,000 and $5,000.
