I'm a traditionalist and one of the things I like most about Thanksgiving are the traditions. One of our traditions is a football game before dinner. Given the rain and wet field conditions, this tradition may be in jeopardy this year.
And there are the food traditions. Except for the tradition of family, Thanksgiving is mostly about the food traditions. One of my favorites has always been Flo's sweet potato pie with marshmallow topping. So I was shocked when I came home last night and saw the sweet potato pie in the oven -- without the marshmallow topping! This year my favorite will have a pistachio topping. So much for tradition.
But just think. Next year I’ll look forward to a new tradition. And it will include pistachio.
