In a recent study more than half of the population (62%) shop online at least once a month. The most common items we buy are electronics, books, clothing, household goods and office supplies.

Retail sales in brick and mortar stores are up by only a small percentage but shopping online is growing at 10-15%.

I enjoy buying online. It's so easy and if the company has taken the necessary steps, very secure. I've bought books, clothing and the occasional piece of computer equipment. Although I'm not ready to buy groceries. There's something about feeling and smelling a piece of fruit before I buy it.

Do you prefer to buy online? And, if you do, what wouldn't you buy online?

Mitch, you should try ordering your groceries on line. I am sitting in my house, drinking coffee, waiting for my peapod order. The fruit is actually better than in the market because it comes straight from the warehouse and no one had picked it over. I find that I do less impulse shopping if I purchase online. Usually, on Monday mornings I set my weekend delivery up and, throughout the week, I add or subtract from my order. On the rare occasions when there has been a problem with my order I have always gotten a refund on the item. I sound like a peapod commercial but I love it's convenience. :). Rona Gura

I shop on line more for what I cannot find at a store or where visiting a store might be inconvenient. For example, I prefer my sneakers blue. Two years back a specific brand was recommended for my by my Dr when I experience a slight tendon tear in my arch. Unlike with my preferred Puma or Addidas, I could not find one in a color I prefer. My first pair a boring white and the current paid white. One of the guys I play ball with suggested I try on line. Not only did I find some in good primarily blue shades, I found an ability to design my own. I did. I saved the design but I need to decide if I want to pay the price.
