Just plain rude

Dogs are wonderful creatures. They are fantastic pets (for the most part). And their "number two" needs to be picked up and bagged. I'm really glad my neighbors pick it up, however, they drop that lovely bag in my garbage can...and it's stinky, even when bagged. It's not my dog, why should I have to put up with that?

I find this rude (in my opinion) since they deposit it after that morning's trash pick-up, so now I have to hold it until the next garbage day.

If your dog dumped it, you should pick it up and dispose of it properly in your own can or a public receptacle. I shouldn't have to deal with someone else's.

Here's the test...how would you feel if, while tucking that discharge into someone else's garbage can, that person walked outside and saw you? Yeah, that would be awkward. And there's a reason for that...you know you shouldn't be doing it.

I know how you feel Mitch! It really grinds my gears, I try my best to get the garbage can as soon as the truck picks up.

And then there are those who just drop it on top of the trash can and keep on walking. Don't get me started on rude dog owners.

If you don’t know their names or address, and you or the garbage truck driver leaves the lid on, I find that writing a “Dear Neighbor” letter works wonders: “Dear Neighbor, Please be neighborly and dispose of your dog’s poop in your own or a public receptacle. Thank you. The Owner” Afix letter in acetate sleeve to garbage can. Good luck!

I agree with you 100%. It's a huge pet peeve for me. When I had a dog, her bag went into my trashcan. Every single time.

You can buy a recepticalw/lid on Amazon or at a hardware store. Or write the CEO of the garbage company with a cc to you attorney and the
Better Business Bureau.

It is bad ediquit to drop waste into your garbage can. I would have my video door camera pointed that way and try to catch the culprit(s).
