It's Cyber Monday

It’s Cyber-Monday and my in box is exploding. I must admit, whenever I go to a store and they offer me an additional 10% off if I give my email address, I always do. My intent, always, is to unsubscribe when I get that first email. But I never do.

I fully understand the marketing. I have seen “The Social Experiment.”  I know those emails are “tickles” meant to remind me that the websites are there filled with lots of merchandise for me.

Every year I promise myself that I will not fall for it again. I will delete the emails and save my money. But I noticed that there are some cute items on some of the websites at great prices and with free shipping. . . .

Are you shopping today?

I stayed up late on Black Friday to take advantage of the supposedly last chance deals, some on Amazon. I looked the next day and the exact items for the same price were now listed under Cyber Monday headline deal and it just Saturday. It's a ll a gimmick. If they want to sell it bad enough, it will be marked down until it's sold.

This was the first time we actually had a Black Friday offer. It was interesting to be on the other side of things. We didn't lower the price but did offer a free item with the purchase. And it did generate some business I might not have otherwise had but probably more because I offered something of value that the customer could benefit from and asked for the sale and not because of the freebie.
