How Do You Read?

I just finished a great book but that’s not the point of my blog.

I read this book in so many different medium – on my phone, on my iPad, on my kindle. Even a little audiobook along the way.

It made me think about the old days when a book had pages to turn that you could feel. I liked that. There is nothing like the sound of a book bending backwards to open for the first time. It’s kind of like the noise you make with your first coffee in the morning. Well, at least I make that noise.

Don’t get me wrong. I completely enjoy the freedom of having the book move with me during the day on various devices. But that convenience has never changed the feeling of a book in my hand.

I listen to books on CD as I drive to work (Bosch now).

I read books on my Kindle. I used to love reading books and still read one ever so often; but the Kindle is so much more convenient and light weight. :)

I didn't think I would love the Kindle as much as I do. I originally just bought it for vacation. But I use it, as well as my Kindle app on my ipad, for all my reading. In fact, I just got a new one that's waterproof. I used it while reading in the pool this weekend and it was great.

Love my Kindle for the convenience but still miss actual books.

I really miss "shopping" for books. In particular, I've missed BN. I decided this summer, I would only read soft cover---I spent more than I would have if I downloaded a book, for now this works for me. I am back to having a large amount of books on my nightstand, and I couldn't be happier.
When I'm done reading a book, I share it. :)

Love “real” books and miss Border’s terribly! I could spend hours in the Book Review in Huntington. When I moved, I had so many books, I donated bags and bags to my local library. Now I read on my iPad and I love that too. But there’s nothing like the smell and feel of holding a beloved book in your hands. The benefit of reading on a device is that you can control the brightness and size of the font!!! Lol

I love paper books. Good ol’ fashion paper books. I love they way they smell and feel in my hands. Nothing betta.
