Too many people

I live in Sea Cliff...a tiny hamlet that's 1 square mile containing 5,000 residents. To the north is Glen Cove and Locust Valley. To the east Brookville. We all have three routes to get off this peninsula with Glen Cove Road being the main artery, At present, traversing Northern Blvd is like crossing a chasm.

big building

A developer is in the process of finishing a large set of buildings that will have over 1,000 residential units. And I'm sure each will need two parking spaces. Now with all this additional traffic, getting across Northern Blvd. will be like crossing the Grand Canyon.

There was a big fight to prevent this from being built, but money and power won out. However, I don't think anybody planned for the increase in traffic...none of the roads are being widened. Looks like I better add extra time to my commute.

Move to Manhattan and enjoy small carbon footprints and the glory of mass transit.

As a resident of Old Brookville I am very concerned about the building in Glen Cove In no body’s wildest imagination will all of the people they’re planning on putting into Glen Cove ever be able to realistically get down Glen Cove Road or any of the other side routes something to take into consideration before buying there. I don’t believe sewer and water were adequately addressed either

Over the last few years, NYC has seemed more crowded to me. I'm not sure if it's actually getting more crowded or it's me wanting less hustle and bustle.

This is a pandemic. Until environmental laws out trump the greed lobby, I recommend loading up on Zantac, Tums or your antacid of choice. Also, some Zen practice and maybe even earn a Drive Time Ph.D.

Maybe a ferry from Glen Cove.....
Development always poses an issue. Personally I prefer more downtowns around transit hubs. From meetings I attend on LI, there seems a greater recognition of such.

Wait !! You guys must step outside the box . Re-examine your goals . For me it was always FIRE . Financially Independent Retire Early . If it’s too crowded get out . Or don’t . If you want the freedom that comes with financial independence call some audibles at the line of scrimmage . Make that your go to play . Born and raised in New York I always planned on “ Get Out of this place if it’s the last thing I ever do .” I get my fix with a visit . Otherwise I’m content to be in the back woods and have my steaks flown in by Pat LaFrieda . My Yankee games on the big screen . My Giant games by the fire . Burning my own wood . Drinking my home brew . Smoking my own weed . Don’t misinterpret my cost of living . It’s almost all paid for by hard work and a plan . It’s called . Get the hell out of Dodge . It’s still out here folks . Look towards the Bitter Root Valley in Montana . The Tetons of Wyoming . Or toil for a few and then get the hell out of Dodge . Family will follow . And they’ll thank you for it . I know these things. Do it .
