Friday the 13th

Superstition (stupid/tradition) says that today is an unlucky day.

Historically, such negativity may stem from there having been 13 places at the Last Supper, but, then again, there were 13 colonies that gave birth to our great nation.

In my immediate family, all birthdays include a 3 (pictured) and it has been my good fortune to have been married to Joanne for most of my life and she was born on November the 13th, which happens to be World Kindness Day and personifies her ❤️

No Triskaidekaphobia here!

Today is dawning beautiful and wondrous and I face it optimistically, eyes wide open, ready to deal with whatever challenges life offers on this first day of the rest of my life.

As you may know because your son David is an alum (as is my son Harlan), Colgate University in upstate NY is 13-centric, not 13-phobic.  Their origin story involves the number 13 repeatedly and affirmatively.  And every Friday the 13th, they call it "Colgate Day," and celebrate in some fashion (typically involving raising $$ for the university).
