A memorable debut

Had an opportunity to take in a Mets game at Citi Field last week; the choices were Tuesday or yesterday.  I thought it better as I continue to recover following my hip replacement to give myself more time including two session of physical therapy; we attended yesterday and the debut of the Mets #1 pitching prospect, Nolan McLean.  It was also Juan Soto bobblehead night so someone's grandson will be rather happy as an extra Soto bobblehead was procured.

Before the game we attended a reception for group leaders in the Bullpen Picnic Area.  I put down a deposit for groups for a 2026 Mets-Yankees game and the 2026 home opener (dates to be announced).  I pick up a Francisco Alvarez bobblehead for making the early deposit.  Even more fun, I won the raffle for an Edwin Diaz autographed baseball.  Diaz, by the way, pitched a two-inning save to ensure McLean's debut 3-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners.  Very proud of young McLean who struck out 8 Mariners is 5 1/3 shutout innings.

It is my sincere hope that years later I can state I was among the many in a sell-out crowd who attended a memorable debut for a then long-serving star pitcher.

Rather than take the elevator down, I used my walker to support taking the left field ramp down; I emailed Friday's blogger my delight in my ability to negotiate the length of a walk.  I think I surprised my wife and daughter when I opted to walk the ramp.  For me, i demonstrated progress.

For those following my progress I link the three preceding blogs:
