Fridays Are For Fred

Categories

I admit it, I take off Fridays. Said another way, Fridays are for Fred.

Having experienced free Fridays for a while, I must say that there are pluses and minuses to having a three day weekend. The minuses are that a "full" 4 day work week compresses five days toil into four days of availability. On the other hand, having Friday off is the closest I will ever come to being retired.

Yes, I save paper work for the Friday quiet of my Dining Room table and yes I engage in a flurry of emails on my "Day of Rest", but I do "relax" doing my regular Friday killer work out with my trainer Sue and it is one less day of commuting into the city.  Now I know what "working from home" really means.

Try it you'll like it!

I like - better word might be enjoy - my office which I still consider a work in progress. I use to use the dining room table but much less so these days; in nice weather i like using my deck; I've even considered whether to store an external screen in the outside "chest" that holds other office-related conveniences. It really works for this commentator.

YOU deserve a day of rest......

I take a day in the summer and chose Monday over Friday, after careful deliberation.

I take Thursdays in the summer. Most importantly, because my husband has off. But also, because most other people don't take it and it feels like a real day off. And lastly, Fridays are always easier when you have the day off before and two days off after. Love my summer Thursdays.

I love my Wednesdays with Sadie! Squeezing 5 days into 4 is harder but it's worth it.

My best friend has been taking Fridays off for several years, and he absolutely loves it. Maybe I should try it sometime-- in the summer, perhaps.
