Red Sox

I am happy that the Red Sox won the World Series and I'm happy that they won the final game in Fenway Park.

It is more fun to watch sports if you'e routing for one of the teams, and, for that reason, I had to choose between the Red Sox and the Cardinals. I was routing for the Red Sox. I'm a Mets fan and after the New York teams ended their seasons, I was drawn to the Red Sox. After all, Gotham has groups in Boston. I like that they went from a last place finish last season to a first place finish this year. I like the fact that they play in a really old ballpark. I went to school in Boston and like the city. And there's that connection after the marathon bombing....

It's been 95 years -- since 1918 -- that the Red Sox won a world championship at Fenway Park .... it was their time....

I was rooting for St. Louis even thought I think the better team won.

They look like the 30s team The House of David

Red Sox: founded 1901, Years in existence - 112- Total Championships: 8
Yankees: founded 1913 (first year as "Yankees") - years in existence - 100 - Total Championships - 27
Effectiveness: Boston 8/112
New York 27/100
Boston is not even statistically relevant enough to really compare the two. When Boston wins another dozen championships we can start talking. Oh wait that will take another 150 years at their success rate, and the Yankees will have another 40 championships by then. Let the small-town also-rans have their fun today but the Yankees wear the real crown every day.

Not a St. Louis fan since the 80s rivalries with the Mets. I rooted against the Cards.
I liked the Gibson era Cards and the team led by that Dizzy guy from era before my time.
As to the Boston v. NY stuff, we need to note beantown shows up better in other sports.
