Lst Night at the Friars Club

Last night at the Cocktail Party, I spent most of my time on the right side --- the Bar Room.  It seems that at every event on the second floor of the Friars Club, the crowd prefers one side or the other. Or, maybe it’s just me. Last night seemed to find more people in the Bar Room.

One little story captures so much about what Gotham is.

Ester Horowitz tapped me on the shoulder to introduce me to a guest at the party ---someone “who worked at Beth Israel”.  Alejandro is married to Janet (who works at Sterling National Bank and often sits in at Gotham meetings for member Deborah Washington). Alejandro is a practice manager at Beth Israel.

In what for me is very typical Gotham fashion, my conversation with Alejandro quickly turned to what he “really” does. A few minutes later he gave me his card -- not from his day job but his “artist” card. For me, that captures it. We like to know what you do, but we care about who you are.

And that’s what happens at Gotham cocktail parties.

It seems that, possibly, I work the rooms more than you as I was all over the place meeting new and interesting people. As always, thank you Sunshine Debbie Lindner for making it happen!

So much happens...potential job for my son (Thanks Fred!:), seeing my daughter and son-in-law network like pros, meeting new members, reconnecting with old ones and having fun eating and drinking...

Nice to know so many enjoyed. My logistics did not work out. Sometime one cannot dance at every wedding.

That is great! We all have an artist within but how many of us carry a business card for our alternative personality? and for that matter would open up about it! Gotham is truly a great place, where we can feel safe talking about our businesses, life and passions!
