Do You Hear It?

I need some help understanding a phenomenon running through the radio. Do you hear Yanni or Laurel?

I have listened at different times on different channels and pieces of equipment. I hear Yanni (sorry, Laurel). But the rest of my family definitely hears Laurel.

We have seen things like this before. Remember the dress that was either gold or blue?

Can someone please explain this to me?

I hear both and find these sorts of things fascinating. It’s our lovely brains, everyone’s is different. The Rashoman effect.

I can hear good music when I listen for it but more likely to stream. Radio more for sports during car rides.

I heard Laurel. Perhaps its my preference for Laurels???

Cannot explain it, especially since I heard neither, although I did hear something similar to Yanni.

Original recording was indeed Laural which I did hear. But Yanny is also mixed into the recording but in the upper frequencies. Your hearing and the equipment It is played through will influence what you hear. It was designed to show how mixing two things with different frequencies can yield this interesting phenominom. Played through an equilizer and frequencies lowered or raised will yield the specific sound of either Yanny or Laurel.

Absolutely no idea what you're talking about--maybe as I don't drive since I'm in NYC?
(I do drive, having grown up in LA, but don't need to here...)

No idea what you're talking about- maybe since I don't need to drive, living in Manhattan?
