Ear Worm Thoughts

It was a perfect summer night for an outdoor concert at Jones Beach. As Rod Stewart expressed during the concert, it was much preferred to the rain that poured on one of his last concerts at the venue.

I usually walk away from a concert with an ear worm--that lingering, repeating lyric that won't go away.

"I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger...." (from Ooh la la)

As the lyrics persisted in my mind, I wondered:

Do I really wish that I knew then what I know now?

If I did, What would I have done with it?

Many foolish youthful mistakes could have been avoided...

Possibly you could avoid some foolishness, but you wouldn't be where you are now.
I love where I am now.

Such a common expression I wish I knew then what I know now. Such regret is sad. Better to say what I know now is great.

I love that song. Ronnie Wood sang lead on the original version on the very last Faces studio LP, also named like the song which he co-wrote with the late Ronnie Lane. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUGKx_kWaVk That original is one of all-time my faves with some great bottleneck guitar by Woody as well as his vocal. The Faces were one of the great bands!
Rod first did it with Woody on MTV's unplugged and that version got release and became a big hit for Rod the Mod.
