Moment of Truth

Categories
Lifestyle

Do the names David Bailey and Crystal Griner resonate for you?  They really really should.

They are the heroic U.S. Capital Police officers who last week, in a true moment of truth, ran into the fire, right into the guns and bullets and probably saved innumerable congressional lives.

A heroic man and woman did not hesitate and saved the day.

In these violent super charged days the prospect of being confronted with a moment of truth is greater than ever.

Have you ever thought about what you would do?  I have.

Fortunately they were there at that moment with the training to react and save lives.

I do but thank God the chances of something like this happening are still one in a million or more. People would be much better off giving thought to how they live - are you present, what do you put in your body, how do you treat others. These are the tiny "moments of truth" that ultimately determine the quality of your life

I have profound respect for those officers. One of whom was injured as well - and for some reason went to a different hospital than the congressman. We MUST have have stricter gun buying laws.

I believe both were injured. Agree!

They are heroes for sure. But their act of heroism was closing to go into the field they chose in the first place. They have each said they were just doing their job. Our men and women in service, those who chose law enforcement, those who chose to go into fields where they willingly put themselves at risk to protect or serve others, are the true heroes. I thank them with all my heart for doing something I haven't done.

Are You Present. Great phrase.
Someone I know died this week. Since she was such a fantastic person, true leader, caring friend, wonderful parent, with a great smile for everyone, we all know what to do to carry on her mission. Every mourner says the same thing: I will continue her work.
Her name is Devon Pfeifer. Peaceful Rest for a lifetime worker for Justice.

I didn't know the officers' names, so thank you for honoring them with your blog. I know what you would do - the same as they did. And so would I.

I knew exactly who there were. In a case like that, I always look at the officers' names. My little way of showing respect to them. Amazing individuals.

Daniel Boone once said "All you need for happiness is a good horse , a good gun and a good wife ! I was an FFDO as a Captain with American Airlines . That's a Federal Flight Deck Officer . I went through the required 4 weeks training in New Mexico with the Air Marshalls . They taught us situational awareness and to never take any moment for granted . Yes , I carried my Sig Sauer P -220 45 caliber semi auto pistol on every flight . Don't point your weapon at anybody unless you have decided to shoot that person they said . I have a concealed carry permit issued by the state of California . Almost impossible to get in this liberal state . I carry at all times . I'm trained . I win . It's coming our way folks . This storm . Anybody who doesn't have a handgun readily accessible in their home is at a disadvantage from the get go . Home invasion ? Anybody ? Anybody ? Bueller ? You can act or you can react . Reactors are losers . Get trained . Seriously . It's comin' ladies and gentleman . Take it to the bank .
