Batten down the hatches! It's going to snow!

Here comes the Nor'easter of 2017. Supermarket shelves are empty. Every loaf of bread in the neighborhood is gone. Forget about a container of milk. Those were gone by Sunday.

As for me, no panic or apprehension. I am kind of looking forward to the storm. We knew that schools were closed by about four yesterday afternoon. With the LIRR already talking about delays and suspensions, I knew I was staying home. Bill had the snow blower filled up and ready to blow. And I have plenty of bread and milk.

So we are all settled in with a snow storm ahead. I think we will have meatloaf for dinner. It’s a comfort food kind of day.

For those of you facing this same storm, how are you spending the day?

Watching the snow, writing a blog, work tonight - we shall see. A peaceful day.

Like you, I'm prepared. Brought work home and getting a lot done. I think I can get more work done in a big sweatshirt and leggins than a suit. I am making a roast beef and pasta with bolognese sauce for my meat eaters and and chicken burgers for me. As you said, comfort food.

Glad it's not as horrible as predicted.

I loaded up on "blizzard snacks" for my daughter who is in NY for spring break, and her boy friend. Happily everyone arrived here just before midnight last night. Delighted we avoided a true blizzard and so very delighted to have my entire family here. Unfortunately I am working but will stop at 5 to spend the evening together, and yes, we will all have our versions of comfort food this evening.

Love snow days. Cozy working at home. Allie made it in for break before the snow hit. Catching up on the laundry and very thankful to be together - with power!

It means Shelly (works in a public school) got to stay home and no basketball (in a public school gym). Meeting I had were canceled early yesterday; some next week; some beyond. I worked later last eve knowing no hurry to get to my conference table desk and I got there before the business day started (there know as I type this). Shelly made lentil soup early this morning. I waited until a phone call occurred early this afternoon to shovel. The rain/ sleet made the snow rather heavy; I think the shoveling was much more grueling than a few hours of ball. I clear both our cars and also cleared a "path" along the curb to let the rain and melted snow drain past my house closer to the catch basins. The snow did not stop a weekly late afternoon conference which gave a sense o regularity to the day.

Jerry and I worked from home, made more plans to celebrate his birthday month and had a lovely dinner. I posted a few pictures of the blizzard on social media in the morning with the intention of posting more later; but the blizzard never hit. LOL

Did some Linked In connections (as suggested by our new President at Carr) while watching some DVR episodes (caught up on 24 Legacy). My wife made some homemade hamentashen (mom's old recipe), Rice Krispy Treats, and we had Trader Joes shrimp pot stickers and spring rolls for dinner. Heavy snow did cause some aches but a nice cup of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and whipped cream helped.
