Tipping
It has occurred to me that one measure of how fortunate I am is that I am able to afford to dine out at restaurants and be served by others.
More and more, I identify with the server, asking for his or her name and engaging with them throughout the meal.
By definition, the server's job is analogous to servant and that relationship activates my sense of empathy, there for the grace of happenstance or whatever, goes me!
Fortunately, our system allows us to reward the server with a tip.
Tip is an abbreviation for To Insure Proper Service, but it is far more. It is, in my opinion, a mechanism to level the socioeconomic divide.
The purpose of this blog is to promote more (much needed) generous tipping. Not just 20%, why not 30%?
What's more, at breakfast, when the check is lower, but the serving work the same, even more!
Also, when at a hotel, always put cash in that envelope-every day!
Finally, tip cash whenever possible, to insure the purity of the transaction (TIPT)!
PS: Did you ever noticed how generous working people are with their cash tips into the jar?
