Will wonders never cease

It came up in a discussion. What are the seven wonders of the world? There are many lists and arguments to be had. First, there's the ancient wonders:

  1. The Great Pyramid of Egypt
  2. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
  3. The Statue of Zeus at Olympia
  4. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
  5. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
  6. The Colossus of Rhodes
  7. The Lighthouse of Alexandria

Then the seven wonders of the modern world:

  1. Channel Tunnel
  2. CN Tower
  3. Empire State Building
  4. Golden Gate Bridge
  5. Itaipu Dam
  6. Panama Canal
  7. Netherlands North Sea Protection Works

Then, of course, there are my wonders of the world (in no particular order)

  1. A NY bagel (can't be duplicated anywhere else)
  2. Grand Central Station (c'mon...it's amazing to be in there)
  3. Planes (it's still incredible to me that tons of steel can fly)
  4. NY Subway system (it's a wonder it still works:)
  5. Pitted olives with pimentos (how do they get those in there?)
  6. Niagra Falls (it's unbeliveably powerful when you stand next to them)
  7. Smart phones (who knew we have the power of a roomful of computers in the palm of our hands)

Grand Central is amazing and the new World Trade Center - how they built that in one of the most congested places is truly amazing.

7 Wonders of My World: The birth of our 2 children; Sunrise over our pond in Greenwich, CT; Flying home and seeing the lights of Manhattan or flying in over Long Island; NYC landmarks: Empire State Building and Chrysler Building; Skiing Verbier where my mother in law lived for 40 years; Jogging on Round Hill Road and hitting the 5 mile mark...and # 7 walking along the water's edge and seeing the waves lapping the shore... Life is good... So many wonders! Happy New Year!

Marrying my sweetheart after 28 years together. That's WONDERful.
Living in Manhattan since 1975. That's WONDERful.
Being able to travel the world and see all those sights. That's WONDERful.
Learning about myself and others through Gotham. That's WONDERful too.
Riding a two wheeler in Key West. Yeah. Wonderful.
