As is the tradition, for me, it's time to pontificate, use hyperbole, educated speculation and blowing smoke. Yes...it's prediction time!

 

Let's take a peak at my track record

 

2007 - 1 for 7. (my rookie year:)
2008 - 1 for 1 (gutsy picking one but it was spot on)
2009 - 3 for 5 
2010 - 2 for 3
2011 - 3 for 3!!! 
2012 - 3 for 3!!!
2013 I took a break, the launch of the new website took all my attention
2014 - 2 for 3
2015 - 0 for 3, bad year but came close on the stock market

 

Over the past few years I'm 15 for 28. If I was a baseball player I would be getting about 50 million/year for batting .585.

 

Now for 2016 (drum rolll please) I humbly submit my predictions...

 

1. Apple will buy Tesla

2. The presedential race will be Clinton vs Rubio

3. The Dow will go over 19,000

4. Gotham will see a huge increase in membership

Not much for making predictions. I do expect we will elect a first female president. I expect (and lament) a few more indictments of public officials in NYS. I also expect a majority of NYS Senators will be enrolled Democrats (How that plays in who controls that chamber remains uncertain as personal enmities may well play a roll that simple politics fail to overcome.). Thor will pitch in the MLB All-Star game. And the Mets will prevail on the Yankees on Aug 1 to the delight and dismay of various Gothamites in attendance that day at Citifield. Mike Piazza gains his overdue election into the Baseball Hall of Fame. At least one NYC (broadly defined) professional sports franchise will come out on top at the end of its post-season.

Hillary will definitely be elected and Trump, who was never a serious candidate, will be crowned the Marketing Genius of the Millennium for extending his "brand" throughout the Universe...a HUGE victory for him!

I'm Optimistic - and hope to see 2-4 come true. Apple buying Tessla - interesting ....Bur Elon Musk working for Tim Cook - Not sure ... But Happy New year to one and all.
