Last night was the last of two consecutive birthday celebrations involving the Bearak household. The need to herald the Gotham Green Awards and call for applications via last week’s commentary sort of combine this into one. Last night I tweeted, “Finally seeing the historical play on Broadway developed by the very talented son of my friend @Vegalteno (on occasion of Shelly’s birthday)“ just before the curtain came up for Hamilton.
So far only Nancy and Fred’s partner, Jane and my friend and former Councilmember, Mark Weprin (who attended our 9/11 Gotham Citifield) got the Hamilton reference. We attended with our daughter Marisa.
Even though we saw the original production on Disney plus, Shelly remarked how much she enjoyed seeing the live show.
In terms of my day, well as most in Gotham know, Shelly joined me for the Cocktail Party and Dinner at the Bob Formica Gotham Golf Outing sponsored by Raj Goel/Brainlink International; yes, I blew out a candle - Thanks Norm Spizz (Watch for a link to pictures on Fredslist soon.). Ditto Sat eve when Shelly and I dined out before taking in Chicago at Tilles Center. For good measure, we saw Todd Rundgren at The Paramount on Thursday. Setlists follow below.
