Friday, I was finally able to set up outside. I even tweeted about it (See pic above left.). This morning I expect to get some final pieces in place for the deck. It requires a curbside pickup but I prefer not endure a weekday delivery and interference with my workdays/week upcoming
It was great to take breakfast yesterday morning and actually read my papers on my reclining chaise lounge; even broke out my outside coffee maker!
We got out that afternoon and participated in drive-by for co-worker of Shelly’s who had lost her husband. I read about and viewed on TV other carvalcades but this was our first. People at houses before the co-workers were waving to us. People walking by filmed us on their iPhones. It was someone’s sorrow but the memorial event brought even some strangers together.
But back to this afternoon. I planned since last weekend to get Shelly a Chaise lounge to “match” the one she got me a few dad’s days ago.
I got covers for both and few other chairs so we can put the cushions out.
Even if no company for a while (social distancing is possible in that space but we’ll not entertain that beyond thoughts of one day....), it becomes symbolic and forward looking.
I like that.
