Preface: This story is written from the perspective of our dog Charcoal who was visited upon for a week by Lucy, our son’s vacationing family’s fellow Schnoodle:
I’m Charcoal in color and fellow female Lucy is White . Lucy is a year or two older than me and when I came on the scene as a hyperactive puppy my recollection is that she was not too welcoming
and I’ve spent 6 years making it up to her. Challenging her, nipping at her heels, eating out of her dog dish, sleeping in her dog bed, running circles around her and sitting in the lap of her owners.
Yet, without consultation, I’m expected to welcome her into my home, share my yard, treats and the belly rubbing attention of Joanne and Fred. Well, it don’t come easy!
Now with her stay almost complete I can say that other than a few turf wars and bark fests we mostly coexisted (see above Photo) and I will soon be sole princess of the house (until the next time when I visit her).
