I agree with what Ben wrote last Thursday. A solar eclipse certainly makes you think about the universe and our place in it. But, even with a solar eclipse occurring, we still have to continue with our day to day life. I have three matters on in Family Court this morning and a settlement conference scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at my office.
I spoke to the other lawyer on my settlement conference and we decided to take a break at the right time, go outside for a moment, and view the eclipse. The other attorney and I are both hopeful that the viewing of a phenomena of such magnitude may humble this warring couple for a brief moment so that they will finally settle this case in the manner that the other attorney and I have previously advised them to do. It would be nice to-- not only have opposing counsel in agreement with me-- but to even have the whole universe on my side for a day.
