It was not an official Gotham gathering -- as the case when many of us gathered at Citi Field last month -- when I found my way to Yankee Stadium last week; that said my "visit" to second game at the Yankees' home park was made possible via Gotham.  My brother Robby, who was for a memorial service for his mom last month, attended our Citi Field gathering with his wife, Jen.  When he made plans to come in again last week solo to sort things at his childhood home, he expressed interest in attending the subway series at the Yankees home.  Through of magic of Paul Napolitano, Rob and I found our way to the Bronx.  We enjoyed an excellent view of a game that turned on a dime. It was an outcome that caused us to leave the stadium happy.  That said the early karma suggested otherwise: Juan Soto denying a Jeff McNeil home run and then launching one of his home.  Never expected the Mets to overcome that; this year's version of my team -- after a rough start -- exhibits an innate ability to overcome setbacks.  One can only hope that continues as the loss of their best pitcher after just one start Friday casts a bill of a pall.

But I must conclude, the experience at Yankee Stadium certainly compared favorably to Citi Field.  And while we were not surrounded by many, many friends and family as was the case last month, everyone we countered in the Bronx -- only a few blocks where I spent some of the best times of my career in public service -- acted like they were friend no matter the fact i darned by Mets baseball cap.

An experience only made possible via Gotham; as if not for being a part of our tribe, I'd not know know Paul (with whom I am in touch almost everyday -- or so it seems.).  Even if this most recent wonderful experience did not happen, I can still say, Paul is one of a kind and someone I am glad to know, and, in this case THANK.
