Shelly and I shared a nice show last night with Marisa.  It's special when you can still share great and meaningful songs by an original artist with your children.  Burton Cummings of The Guess Who sang and played the hits and more in a worthy performance at The Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair. I had not seen him perform in more than a decade -- surprised that was the case when I checked -- and the last time was a solo show.  This time a full band -- Tim Bovaconti and Michael Zweig and on guitars, Jeff Jones on bass, Nick Sinopoli on vocals and percussion and Sean Fitzsimmons on drums -- in addition to Cummings on keys.  This unit certainly replicated and perhaps updated the original sound; compare to these 1973 and 1974 performances on The Midnight Special. Marisa posted a nice pic of the full band to Facebook.  If you can catch them live I am sure you'll find the experience worthwhile.

Check out the set list.  I'd imagine most would recognize more than a few tunes.

*Bus Rider (The Guess Who song)

*Clap for the Wolfman (The Guess Who song)

*Hand Me Down World (The Guess Who song)

*Laughing (The Guess Who song)

*Undun (The Guess Who song)

*Trouble in the City (J.J. Cale cover)

*These Eyes (The Guess Who song) [Included on my "The Eyes Have It" playlist.]

*My Own Way to Rock

*Albert Flasher (The Guess Who song)

*Guns Guns Guns (The Guess Who song)

*Stand Tall

*Blackjack Fever

*Für Elise (Snippet)

*American Woman Intro/ Roadhouse Blues snippet

*No Sugar Tonight / New Mother Nature (The Guess Who song)

*No Time (The Guess Who song)

*Encore: Share the Land (The Guess Who song)  [My fave song by The Guess Who; included on my Inspiration playlist.]

The title of this blog comes from Cummings solo hit he performed last evening.
