Apparently in France people take their Nutella very seriously.
Parisian's emotional connections to Nutella were on display when a French supermarket chain drastically cut the price of a 2 lb jar of Nutella on Thursday. This resulted in never before seen outbursts of violence between customers fighting to get their hands on the product.
“They are like animals. One woman had her hair pulled. An elderly lady took a box on her head. Another had a bloody hand,” reported a local paper.
Nutella’s producer, The Ferrero company, distanced itself from the sticky situation. This gives me ideas for a whole new marketing campaign. :-)
