I was one of those kids who danced. I spent hours and hours at dancing school for years and years. With all candor, I wasn't very good. In every recital photo, if the whole group is pointing to the left, I am pointing to the right. If the group is doing pirouettes, I am down on one knee. You get the idea. I had so much trouble keeping up. But I loved it.
I remember being in the audience at Radio City Music Hall when I was seven years old watching the Rockettes perform at the holiday show. I could not have been more engaged or enthralled. The absolute precision demonstrated by each of the dozens of dancers was just an amazing thing to see.
Last night we took the family to Radio City Music Hall to see this year's holiday show. Honestly, we would not have necessarily picked this show but my son's choir was the opening act. (A seriously proud mama moment).
But as soon as the Rockettes came out onto the stage, it was as if I was in the audience for the first time at seven years old. Of course, I kind of remember movies at Radio City too but now I am really aging myself.
All in all, a fun, proud evening along with a stroll down memory lane.
