A year ago I discussed two gatherings. This time just one. It represented almost that cross-pollination effect that Fridays blogger likes to note at meetings or other things Gotham. Most times I enjoy a morning full court “game.” This week no court experience but the 4th Annual Gotham Picnic and Softball game. Keeping with tradition, we used my caterer, Saidy’s Cafe. One of my basketball players joined in this year. Fred (Klein) batted him lead-off on our team. He also vouched to our Webmaster that I got some game; thanks Brian (who also possesses an amazing turnaround jumper.)! As noted last week, Jan Arden (Family Home Improvement) stepped in as a sponsor joined by Minuteman Bellerose (Scott Levine and Fred Morante).
Fred (Morante) and Jan played Left and Third on our team. Steve Scully, Gotham’s new Operations Director/ Network Liaison played Short, Nancy Schess’ husband Bill covered Second. Barry Pulchin was in Right, Alan Kreit handled Right Center and aforementioned Brian Star manned Centerfield (You knew I’d have to insert some music here). I played First.
Final score 9-7 and Fred (Klein) who pitched screamed out it’s great to be Young and a Batman after I caught Steve’s throw to end the game.
But in my view everyone won and all enjoyed!
P.S. the "Glove" on my right hand was subject of not just one but two blogs.
