I do not understand the sneaker mania craze. A few years ago, I blogged about a Sneaker Expo that my son and his friend attended. Recently, however, sneaker mania leapt to new levels in my house.
A few weeks ago, my son asked if I still had the box for a pair of sneakers he had outgrown about a year ago. I did. He still had the sneakers. "Why do you need the box?," I asked. He looked at me like I had lost all intelligence and responded, “you can’t sell the sneakers without the box”.
The bigger question in my mind was, how could you possibly sell a pair of sneakers that had been worn – a lot. Much to my surprise, not only could you sell the sneakers, but you could recoup the same price you paid. Apparently, unlike a new car, sneakers do not devalue the moment they come out of the box.
You learn something new every day.
