Normally, this blog heralds optimism about the start of the baseball season; while some ballplayers populated Spring Training complexes, none currently find their names listed on any Major League Baseball team’s 40 manning roster. It reflects an inability of rather wealthy team owners, from the perspective of this labor-affiliated advocate, to bargain in good faith. It remains unfortunate. It puts the start of the baseball season at risk. Fans can only hope for movement sooner than later.

Gotham plans a big outing to Citi Field in July when the Mets host the Yankees and no one wants that game delayed or rescheduled. It’s really cool to see Gotham welcomed on the scoreboard there (See pic upper left.).

As a Mets fan, I have reason to be optimistic about the season if it comes to pass but I choose to wait for an agreement and a season before any blog I draft offers my take on the team.

If not for COVID, I had planned to visit Spring Training in Port St. Lucie to see the Mets get ready. I hope to be able to make similar plans in 2023. But first we need a 2022 season.
