On the morning after our December 3rd Holiday Party (where we named the recipient of our hallowed "Red Bandana" Award, named two new Networkers of the Year and our Foundation handed out four $5000 grants to worthy and appreciative recipients) it came to me that, more than anything else, the characteristic which distinguishes Gotham from other groups, networking or otherwise, is that we have SOUL!

SOUL is defined as the Spiritual part of a human being regarded as immortal. In my mind we're not so much immortal as spiritual.

Examples of our spirit are innumerable. One occurred recently when Cindy Shattuck gave birth to twins and another when Nancy Schess's daughter Jaclyn was accepted at Yale University. In each case Fredslist lit up with glowing expressions of happiness and good will (as If we were members of the same "Family").

Another manifestation of our SOUL occurred when former Networker of the Year Corey Bearak picked up on my discussion of my belief we have SOUL and posted links to virtually every song ever recorded with the word SOUL in it's title.  If that's not spiritual I don't know what is!  Even my son Alex's (Tiajuana Caravan) Soul Food Lovin'!

I could go on and on, But it's best that we go on and on in spirit and otherwise.
